In reference to your research on William Anderson and Nancy Ann Forshee....do you know anything about their son (and Hiram's brother) William Anderson? We have a brick wall named William Anderson, born around 1800/1801 who married a Mary Magdalene, and moved with their children to Randolph County, WV around 1836 (the first tax record showing that he paid taxes there was in late 1835/early 1836). Children: Alfred, Allen, George Lewis, Alexander, Rebecca, Susanna, Emily, Anjeline Jane. So, I was curious to know if you had found a wife for William or where he had died. Thanks!

Well put. The stories of family members and ancestors are part of understanding why we are the way we are.I'm working on a book of my father's stories that he told me years ago. Each day I learn more about myself.

Liked your talk on dowsing. I used to think it was all crazy, but now I can dowse, but however I use a very scientific way of doing it. I have only taught it to 4 other people and of course it worked for all of them.
Sincerely, Robert

My brother can dowse, as could my father, but I am not able to feel the pull. Whatever it takes, I didn't inherit it.

Excellent post, Lee! I've been a member of Find A Grave for over 5 years, and my husband has been a member for almost as long. Photographing cemeteries is a family affair for us, as my daughter took her first "graving" trip when she was only 2 months old, and still in a baby carrier! The local cemetery caretakers have watched her grow and are always very helpful and sweet to us.

There are lots of other, valuable sites which offer photos and info about headstones, but I almost wish there weren't. I'd love to have everything centralized at Find A Grave so I wouldn't have to search in so many places!

You can find me at Find A Grave as EMarie!

Hello: I am Tracy Logsdon of Cowden, Illinois, near Shelbyville, il. I have been actively dowsing for graves now for about 8 years, I have perfected the craft to the point that the only thing I don't know about a grave I have found would be the name of that person that is buried. I have noticed that not a one of the dowsers that I have read about, can say why their rods pick up a grave. I have absplute proof that each person has a magnetic field from head to foot, that reaches out from a living person for about 8 feet. They carry that field with them when they die.
For verification of my ability, see the Shelbyville, Illinois article of 2008 in the Shelbyville Daily Union. Evidently, my talent must be a bit better than most grave dowsers, because most of them have been satisfied in just finding a lost grave! They do not seem to work at finding why their talent works! Be interested in a reply from one of your researchers! Tracy Logsdon, Cowden, Il.
